February 28, 2023
Board President Kathleen Simon called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Board Members present were Ernest Roberts, Wendy Harrington, Butch Guidry, Beth Ferguson, Peter Posada. Board members not present Jessica Crador. Beth Ferguson led the prayer and led pledge of allegiance.
On the motion by Beth Ferguson, seconded by Ernest Roberts and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted the January 2023 minutes.
On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Wendy Harrington and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted the Financial Statement.
There was no action taken toward Klondike issues at this time.
On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Beth Ferguson and carried, the Library Board voted to get a scope of work for the damage in the meeting room in Johnson Bayou Library.
On the motion by Wendy Harrington, seconded by Ernest Roberts and carried, the Library Board voted to raise part time employees pay to $11.00 hour.
On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Wendy Harrington and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted to hire 3 new part-time employees Mary Vincent, Lynora Griffith, and Sandy Rozas.
On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Beth Ferguson and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted the salary for Director position will be $65,040.00 per year.
On the motion by Butch Guidry, seconded by Beth Ferguson and carried, the Library Board voted to offer Jolie Terro the Director Position. If she chooses not to take the offer then want to advertise the position.
There being no further business and upon the motion of by Ernest Roberts seconded by Beth Ferguson, and carried, the board voted unanimously to adjourn at 6:16 p.m.
