Board of Commissioners Meeting
December 14, 2022
Meeting called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chairperson, Mary D. Booth.
Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer were led by Mrs. Booth.
Board Roll call: Present – Mary Booth, Christine Mooney, Melissa Kiffe.
Mrs. Booth read the agenda aloud. No amendments were proposed to the agenda.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to approve the minutes from the last meeting, September 21, 2022. Second by Ms. Mooney. None opposed. Motion carried.
Director, Byron Broussard presented the director’s report for September through November which included, call volume reports, payments received on accounts, expense reports, cash asset report, and tax revenues received. A balance sheet was presented and reviewed. Expense reports were reviewed and signed by each present member. An account adjustment report was presented and signed by the meeting chairperson.
Mr. Broussard gave an update on Stryker/ Physio Control purchases. The mounting mechanisms, stretcher batteries and chargers have been shipped and received. The stretchers should arrive in the coming days and both will be installed when all components are on site. The cardiac monitors are back ordered, however the sales representative, for the district, has advised that the new units are beginning to ship.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to accept and approve the director’s report. Second by Ms. Mooney. None opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Broussard updated the board with a progress report from Mudd Law Firm on Hurricane Laura mitigation. Additional settlements were mitigated, received and distributed by the Cameron Parish Police Jury. The district has received, in addition to the initial disbursements, $142,355.14. More mitigations are being scheduled.
Mr. Broussard discussed plans for constructing an accessory building at the Creole station. Plans were submitted to the State Fire Marshall’s office, reviewed by the Fire Marshall, approved with minor alterations. Mr. Broussard will meet with the permitting office staff to determine what more is needing to move forward with the project and employ a contractor.
Ms. Kiffe Motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms. Mooney. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned.
