Public meetings have been scheduled in Cameron Parish to consider calling a special election to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval.
Those entities are Special Assessment District in Cameron Parish, Law Enforcement District of Cameron Parish and Cameron Parish Ambulance District 2.

Special Assessment District
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of Special Assessment District in Cameron Parish will be held at its regular meeting place in Suite A of the Cameron Parish Police Jury East Annex, located at 110 Smith Circle, Cameron, LA on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 10 a.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $1,305,931.84, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $160,360.01.
Law Enforcement District
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23 (C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of Law Enforcement District in Cameron Parish will be held at its regular meeting place in Room 104 of the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office at the Law Enforcement Center, located at 124 Recreation Center Lane, Cameron, LA on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 9 a.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is 6,355,534.95, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $41,240.19.
Ambulance District 2
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of Cameron Parish Ambulance District 2 in Cameron Parish will be held at its regular meeting place at the Cameron Parish Ambulance District 2, located at 979 Main Street, Hackberry, LA on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 5:45 p.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $5,497,763.78, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $1,767,132.68.
