Cameron Parish Fire District #10 met at the Johnson Bayou Fire Station on September 13, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. for a regular scheduled meeting.
Members present were as follows: Glenn Trahan, Richard Burbank, Larry Jinks, Sam Coleman and Ian Griffith. Guests include: Capt. Adams and Wendy Harrington.
The meeting was called to order by Glenn Trahan at 5:00pm.
The pledge and prayer were led by Glenn Trahan.
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Sam Coleman to approve the minutes from the August 9th meeting. Motion carried.
The board heard an employee grievance by Capt. Adams concerning his base pay not being equivalent to that of other employees also allocated to the position of Fire Captain.
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Ian Griffith to no longer use the term shift captain for any employee. All captains are equal rank. Motion carried.
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Ian Griffith to have Charla work with Braids to establish what the cost of back pay will be. Motion carried.
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Sam Coleman that no district chief position would be established at this time. Motion carried.
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Ian Griffith that all captains will have the same base pay rate effective September 10th. Motion carried
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Sam Coleman to approve the bills. Motion carried
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Ian Griffith to approve the financials. Motion carried.
It was moved by Richard Burbank and seconded by Sam Coleman to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The next regular scheduled meeting will be October 11, 2023.
