New library director on job

The Cameron Parish Library Board of Control announced at its February meeting the appointment of Jolie Terro as the new Cameron Parish Library Director.

Terro started Monday, Mar. 13. She replaces Delia “Dede” Sanders, who is retiring after 29 years.

Terro is a resident of Big Lake and a graduate of South Cameron High school. She earned her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Louisiana State University, an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Sowela Technical Community College, Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from McNeese State University.

She currently works for Cameron Parish Police Jury Permitting Office in Cameron. She previously worked as an Inter Library Loan Specialist for Cameron Parish Library. She resides in Big Lake, with her husband, Dylan.

Terro says her experiences throughout life have given her the opportunity to skillfully work as a team player for the greater good of a company or business.
