In a Nov. 1, press release, Commonwealth LNG announced their donation a $450,000 mobile healthcare unit to the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District and committed long-term funding to help rebuild South Cameron Memorial Hospital following Hurricane Laura.

The unit has been in place, just north of the former duplex lodging near the site of the recently demolished South Cameron Hospital. The mobile medical unit officially opened for business Nov. 21. It is serving as a Medical Clinic under the operation of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital with a registered Nurse Practitioner on duty.
