Megan Poole earns Ph.D. from Penn State

Megan Poole

Megan Poole is a May 2020 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. Poole earned a Ph.D. in English with an emphasis on rhetoric, science, and technical writing at Penn State and defended her dissertation, titled Technical Beauty: Rhetorics and Aesthetics of Science, with distinction.

Her research was awarded the Harold K. Schilling Dean’s Graduate Scholarship, a university award that acknowledges outstanding graduate research in science and ethics.

Her writing has been published in academic journals such as Quarterly Journal of Speech and Western Journal of Communication.

In the fall, she will become an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky.

Poole is also a graduate of Texas Christian University (M.A.), McNeese State University (B.A.), and Grand Lake High School.

She is the daughter of Darryl and Becky Poole of Grand Lake.
