The Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10 met in regular session at the Waterworks office located at 6246 Gulf Beach Hwy. in Johnson Bayou on February 20, 2024, at 5:30p.m. Members present by roll call were Mark Young, Connie Trahan, Kent Carlson, Bobbie Trahan, and Nathan Griffith. Members absent were none. Employees attending were Rhonda Morrison, Carl Trahan, Jeff Landry, and Aaron Jinks.
It was moved by Nathan Griffith to call the meeting to order.
The pledge was said by all present and the prayer was led by Connie Trahan.
A Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comment was given.
It was moved by Connie Trahan, seconded by Mark Young, and carried to accept January minutes as read.
A quote from Bayou Technologies was reviewed for a firewall installation and annual network management for cybersecurity protection. It was moved by Kent Carlson to accept the HaaS Plan. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Bobbie Trahan and carried.
It was moved by Mark Young to update the meter installation price to reflect the current material charges. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
It was moved by Kent Carlson to add the following policy to the new service tap/new customer agreement: Any moveable or non-moveable items hindering the repairs and/or replacement of the water districts assets, will be moved at the customer’s expense. This includes fencing and cement slabs that are poured over the main distribution line or around the water meter. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Mark Young and carried.
Cost of living raises were discussed. It was moved by Mark Young to give Carl, Jeff, and Rhonda a 4% cost of living raise. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Bobbie Trahan and carried.
It was moved by Kent Carlson to give Aaron Jinks a $2.50 an hour cost of living raise. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Connie Trahan and Bobbie Trahan. Mark Young abstained from voting.
It was moved by Bobbie Trahan to adopt the hazard pay policy. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Connie Trahan and carried.
It was moved by Kent Carlson to sign the 2023 Audit Engagement documents. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Mark Young and carried.
It was moved by Connie Trahan, seconded by Bobbie Trahan, and carried to approve the bank statements and the Actual vs. Budget report for the month ending January 2024.
It was moved by Bobbie Trahan, seconded by Kent Carlson, and carried to approve the bills as paid.
