DISTRICT NO. 8
July 16, 2020
There was a regular meeting of Gravity Drainage District No. 8 at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Grand Lake Waterworks Office.
PRESENT: Jake McCain, Terry Smith, Tommy Arceneaux
ABSENT: James Cox, Marsha Delaney
On motion of Tommy Arceneaux, second by Terry Smith and carried, the minutes of the of the January 16, 2020 meeting are approved.
On motion of Terry Smith, second by Tommy Arceneaux and carried, the Finance Report thru June 30, 2020 was approved as presented by the Secretary.
On a motion of Jake McCain, seconded by Tommy Arceneaux and carried, the board approved the following permits as presented by the secretary:
a. LCUP #200102 – Marquis Resources – drilling
b. LCUP #200109 – Anadarko – environmental assessment on Natali property
c. LCUP #200208 – Nicholas LaRocca – Homesite/shop/driveway
d. LCUP #200308 – Roy Bailey – temporary storage of excavated material within permitted pit
e. LCUP #200307 – Marquis Resources – 2/4” flowlines to serve Grand Lake Rebel Prospect
f. LCUP #200604 – Max Guthrie – Homesite/driveway
g. LCUP #200505 – Tom Barrett – Homesite/driveway/wharf/boat-house/bulkhead
h. LCUP #200503 – Clinton Cradeur – extension of existing wharf
i. LCUP #200701 – Hilcorp Energy – place earthen plug across existing canal
j. CUP #200703 – U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service – 8 tidal creeks within lower elevation marshes
On a motion of Jake McCain, seconded by Tommy Arceneaux and carried, that the following resolution is declared duly adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the following millage is hereby levied on the 2020 tax roll on all property subject to taxation by Cameron Parish Gravity Drainage District No. 8:
GDD8 Maintenance; 2.57 MILLS
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper administrative officials of the Parish of Cameron, State of Louisiana, be and they are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread said taxes, as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish for the year 2020, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
The foregoing resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes:

ABSENT: Marsha Delaney, James Cox
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of the resolution adopted at the board meeting held on July 16, 2020, at which meeting a quorum was present and voting.
