PROCEEDINGS
June 22, 2023
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Brad Hinton
ABSENT: Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Mike Welch
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mr. Dalton Nunez, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
Guest: Mr. Jerry Johnson, Utility Service Co.
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the minutes from the May 17, 2023 meeting were approved.
Mr. Johnson presented the Utility Service Co. plan of future maintenance for the water tower. The Board requested further information on the scope of work that will be provided before signing a new long-term contract. Mr. Johnson agreed to provide information by next week. The Board will review the information at the next meeting to decide on the contract renewal.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the Board approved the lowest quote from A2Z Water Services to provide backflow preventor inspections for $120 to all commercial customers who agree to the service.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the Board tabled the adoption of the Standard Operating Procedure until next meeting.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch and Dalton Nunez. There is no date when the new well motor will be available.
The monthly updates and Financial Reports including the Actual vs Budget Report for the month ending May 31, 2023 were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, the financial reports were accepted and all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
There being no further business, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
