PROCEEDINGS
May 17, 2023
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Mike Welch, Mr. Brad Hinton
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mr. Dalton Nunez, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
Guests: Mr. Curtis Fountain, Mr. Gerald Landry, Mr. Mark Granger
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the minutes from the April 12, 2023 meeting were approved.
Mr. Fountain stated the Fire Department would not sign the CEA written by the Cameron Parish DA until they had more time to review the document to determine if the terms were beneficial to the Fire Department.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch and Dalton Nunez. Quotes were presented for new and rebuilt well motors, new auto read meters have been installed, the hydrant repair crew is half way complete, and the New Family Dollar Store has been installed.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mike Welch and carried unanimously, the Board approved the purchase of a new well motor from Griner and to have a protective cover built.
The monthly updates and Financial Reports including the Actual vs Budget Report for the month ending April 30, 2023 were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the financial reports were accepted and all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
There being no further business, on motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
