PROCEEDINGS
Cameron Parish Recreation District 5 held its regularly scheduled meeting on May 20, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Board president Brett Bellard called the meeting to order and on roll call the following members were present: Tremayne Picou and Jacob Babcock.
Absent: Don Soileau and Kayla Conner
Employees in attendance were Lisa Ledano.
Guests in attendance: none
Minutes of the previous meeting, April 15, 2021, were distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Tremayne Picou made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
Old Business:
• Public Comment – time was allowed for public comment prior to voting on all agenda items.
• Election of Officers – Jacob Babcock made a motion to table the matter to a later meeting when more members could be in attendance. Tremayne Picou seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
• Conex container – Tremayne Picou made a motion to table the matter to a later meeting. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
New Business:
• Public Comment – time was allowed for public comment prior to voting on all agenda items.
• Recreation Center Manager – email from Police Jury – Jacob Babcock made a motion to table the matter to a later meeting. Tremayne Picou seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
• Purchase new laptop – Tremayne Picou made a motion to purchase a new laptop for the district’s recordkeeping. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
• Approval of bills – The board members present reviewed the invoices for the month of April 2021. Jacob Babcock made a motion to approve the bills. Tremayne Picou seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
• Approval of treasurer’s report – The April 2021 treasurer’s reports was distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Tremayne Picou made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
The board’s next meeting is schedule to be held on June 17, 2021.
With no further business to discuss, Jacob Babcock made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Tremayne Picou seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
