DETERMINATION
The LDEQ, Office of Environmental Services, has reviewed a Title V permit and PSD (Prevention of Significant Deterioration) permit application from Commonwealth LNG, LLC, 500 Gulf Beach Hwy in Cameron, LA 70631 in Cameron Parish.
Commonwealth LNG, LLC proposes to construct and operate the LNG Facility on the west side of the Calcasieu Ship Channel at its entrance to the Gulf of Mexico. The proposed facility will consist of a natural gas liquefaction and export facility. The LNG Facility will consist of one liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) plant, including six gas liquefaction trains and appurtenant facilities. The facility will also include six LNG storage tanks each with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters (m3) [approximately 13,210,000 gallons], an electricity generating facility consisting of natural gas-fired simple cycle turbines, one marine loading berth capable of loading LNG carriers up to a capacity of 216,000 m3 (approximately 57,000,000 gallons).
The permit is to be processed as an expedited permit in accordance with LAC 33:I.Chapter 18.
