NOTICE OF FILING OF JEFFERSON DAVIS ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC.’S REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY RATE RELIEF RELATED TO INCREASE IN INTEREST EXPENSES AND REQUEST FOR INTERIM RATES
This notice is given pursuant to Article IV, Section 21, Paragraph (D) of the Louisiana Constitution of 1974, regarding residential, general service and lighting electricity rates in the foregoing parishes. Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative, Inc. (“JDEC”) is an electric public utility having facilities to provide retail electric service to approximately 10,000 members (pre-2020 hurricane season) in five parishes (Allen, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vermilion). JDEC has filed a Request for Immediate Emergency Rate Relief Related to Increase in Interest Expenses and Request for Interim Rates, which could lead to a future change in the amount billed to JDEC’s customers. This requested increase in the amount to be billed to JDEC’s members will allow JDEC to continue to provide safe and reliable service to its members well into the future.
