DISTRICT NO. 8
January 12, 2023
There was a regular meeting of Gravity Drainage District No. 8 at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Grand Lake Waterworks Office.
PRESENT: Jake McCain, Marsha Delaney, Terry Smith, Tommy Arceneaux, James Cox
ABSENT: None
GUESTS: None
On motion of Jake McCain, second by James Cox and carried, the minutes of the of the November 15, 2022, meeting are approved.
On a motion of Jake McCain, seconded by James Cox and carried, the board approved the following permits:
LCUP # 221207 – Golden Gulf Energy Corp – Clear land for cattle grazing
The board requested a work order to assess Lateral #27 next to Morant’s Paint and Body Shop.
President Jake McCain suggested the board consider hiring a full-time employee to maintain the laterals throughout the district. The board is going to speak to other drainage districts to see if they are interested in sharing the costs to employ one employee to serve all interested districts. The employee would spray all laterals in district 8, as well as assist in the operation and maintenance of water-control structures in districts 4 and 5.
On motion of Jake McCain, second by James Cox and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
