At a press conference held Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Cameron Parish Police Jury Annex Building Devon Hyde, Lake Charles Memorial Health System President and CEO, was on hand to announce that they have partnered to provide services to South Cameron Memorial Hospital. Services will initially start with a mobile unit set up near the Cameron Parish Health Unit until it can be rennovated for use.

An architectural rendering by Joshua Hoffpauir with Hoffpauir Studio LLC was presented on the ten bed full scale medical facility with a projected two year window to demo and rebuild the elevated facility constructed to withstand future storms and be a permanent structure to serve the community.

For over three years the community has been without healthcare. Funding will come from FEMA and insurance.
