Emma Miller-Fontenot

Emma Jean Miller-Fontenot, 79, died Wednesday, Mar. 2, 2022, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arceneaux and Artemise Boudreaux and late husband, Layton Noel Miller.

She was born in Creole. She owned Jean’s Beauty Salon for upwards of 20 years. She became a cattlewoman following her late husband’s passing.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the CFMA, and a homemaker in her late life.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Fontenot; four sisters, Barbara LeBoeuf of Sulphur; Marianna Benoit of Lake Charles; Judy Conerly of Poplarville, Miss.; Sandra Gail Boudreaux of Cameron; four children, Gerard Miller and wife, Cheryl of Lacassine, Todd Miller and wife, Tammy Jo of Bell City, George Miller and wife, Stacy of Grand Lake, and Medina Percle and husband, Chris of Sulphur; five step-children, Sharon Reed and husband, Mark, Martha Williams and husband, Paul, Cliff Fontenot and wife, Marla, Sylvia McFarlin and husband, Chris, and Delson and Kelley Fontenot; 25 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Mar. 7, at the temporary site for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole under the direction of Hixson Funerel Home in Lake Charles. Rev. Jerish Geroge, M.O.C. was the celebrant
