Edmund F. Helms, 81 of Lake Charles died on Wednesday, Mar. 24, 2021.

He was born in Lake Charles. He was a lifelong resident of Sweetlake and graduated from Grand Lake High School. Later in life he began working at Hercules, what we now know as Lyondell, until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Timothy Helms, Sabrah Helms-Kingham, Cheryl Helms-Rowan, and Scott Helms; as well as many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund “Bully” and Darles B. Helms; and one brother.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Mar. 31, at University Baptist under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Burial followed at Prien Memorial Park.
