CCAA to begin water bill assistance

Cameron Community Action Agency will be beginning a water bill assistance program on Friday, Apr. 1. Call our office at 337-905-6000 and speak to Sherry LaVergne to make an application.

This is a one time program sponsored by the state. The program is designed to assist income eligible residents of Cameron Parish to catch up on their water bills or to help with future bills. Have a copy of your water bill handy as well as proof of income, copy of your drivers license and Social Security card.
If you are in need of transportation throughout the parish or in to Calcasieu Parish call us 24 hours in advance and schedule your ride. Call John Ogea at 337-905-6000. Let us know your pick up address, the date and time of your appointment and your destination address.

If you are in a wheelchair or use other devices like walkers, let us know when you schedule.

All persons over the age of 60 will not be charged as another program pays for your trip. Call after 8 a.m. Monday throug Friday.

Friday, Apr. 15 is Good Friday. The Cameron Council on Aging and Community Action Agency will be closed to observe the holiday.

The Cameron Council on Aging board of directors and Advisory Board will hold a meeting on Mar. 28 at 11 a.m., at the Grand Lake Community Church, located on highway 384. All members are urged to attend.
