Calvin Trahan

Calvin “Kakie” Trahan, 84, passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021.

Kakie was born on Jan. 25, 1937 to Elton and Venia Trahan in Lake Charles. Kakie enjoyed being around friends and family especially working cattle and watching his kids and grandkids in all of their endeavors. You could find Kakie driving around on his daily runs checking cattle, telling stories, and visiting everywhere he went. He started working for Texas Gas Transmission then moved on to work 28 years for Amoco and retired in 1992. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1962. He was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Hackberry. Kakie served on the Louisiana High School Rodeo Board, Hackberry Recreation District Board, and the Hackberry Drainage District Board.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anita Sanner Trahan; three children, Stevie Trahan and wife Suzy, Mark Trahan and wife Julie, and Chad “Pud” Trahan and wife Shelly; seven grandchildren, Blair Trahan, Abby Trahan, Jolie Trahan, Jeanne Trahan, Jacques Trahan, Reece Trahan, Calli Trahan; two living siblings, Rudy Trahan and Linda Lou Trahan; and many friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Julie Trahan.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Hackberry with Father Arvind Minz H.G.N. officiating. Visitation was held from 4 until 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at St. Peter Catholic Church Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of services at the Church Hall. Burial will be at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
