Beautification project set for August 5

The Cameron Parish Lions Club is sponsoring a Cameron Parish Beautification project on Friday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The project includes the planting of live oaks and new flower beds in the courthouse square. The older oak trees that have survived multiple hurricanes will be pruned and mulched to encourage new growth and continued long term stability, as they have enhanced the traditional look of Courthouse Square throughout history.

Live oak trees, approximately 6-8 ft. tall, will be available for purchase at a discounted price of $125 to those interested.

This price includes the live oak tree with instructions on watering and replanting and must be picked up between the hours of 10 a.m.-2 p.m. from Courthouse Square and the new Hackberry Community Center.

Those interested must call ahead of time to purchase at 337-232-8733.
