Funeral services for Mr. Percy Lander Duhon, 86, of Lake Arthur, will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mr. Duhon will begin on Friday, July 29, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. A Cursillo Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. It will resume on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and continue until time to leave for services.
Mr. Duhon was born on Sept. 14, 1935, in Creole to Jim and Eunice Broussard Duhon. He spent most of his life in Creole and then Lake Arthur. He served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam where he earned the Bronze Star and made the Army his career. He was a member of the color guard. He was very patriotic and loved his country dearly. He enjoyed camping, barbecuing, and dancing to French music. He loved his family above all else and treasured each one.
Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Willa Mae Broussard Duhon of Lake Arthur; daughters, Rhonda (Tony) Duhon of Creole, Jana (Ray) Hay of Lake Arthur, Victoria (Tim) Cross of Springfield, VA; sons, Bennett (Darnell) Duhon of Lake Arthur, Bruce (Shelley) Duhon of Lake Charles; eighteen grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog Bijou.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
