Recently, Katie Barnes, a very familiar face on Cameron Beaches announced her last day at Audubon.

As a Biologist she has been serving the birds and people of coastal Louisiana for nearly eight years as a coastal bird technician. She has worked closely with some of the most vulnerable bird species in the Parish.

She expressed her thanks to everyone who had volunteered their time and worked countless hours with her to help give beach-nesting birds a voice and lend a hand in the field.

She said, “I couldn’t accomplish what I have without the amazing community and field teams!” She indicated that she would still be in Louisiana – so don’t think you won’t find her on the beach next summer with an orange hat.
