District No. 5
Cameron Parish Recreation District 5 held its regularly scheduled meeting on March 18, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Board member Tremayne Picou called the meeting to order and on roll call the following members were present: Don Soileau and Jacob Babcock.
Absent: Brett Bellard and Kayla Conner
Employees in attendance were Lisa Ledano, Connie Businelle and Vickie Pickett.
Guests in attendance: none
Minutes of the previous meeting, August 20, 2020, were distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Jacob Babcock made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Don Soileau seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.

New Business:
• Public Comment – time was allowed for public comment prior to voting on all agenda items.
• Hurricane claims update – Tremayne Picou informed the board members that he had met with two insurance adjusters and at this time we are waiting on insurance.
• Pool employees (lifeguards and directors) – Don Soileau made a motion to put a status of the situation with the pool on social media to keep the public updated. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
• Election of Officers – Don Soileau made a motion to table the matter to a later date. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
• Approval of bills – The board members present reviewed the invoices for the months of August 2020 through February 2021. Don Soileau made a motion to approve the bills. Tremayne Picou seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
• Approvals of treasurer’s reports – The treasurer’s reports for the periods of August 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021 were distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Jacob Babcock made a motion to accept the treasurer’s reports as presented. Don Soileau seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
The board’s next meeting is schedule to be held on April 15, 2021.
With no further business to discuss, Tremayne Picou made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Don Soileau seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
