Wayne Andrew Gros, 85, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, at his home in Westlake.
He was born Morgan City and grew up in Cameron.
He served in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he worked for several years in the oil industry before beginning a career in the petrochemical industry. He worked as an operator until his retirement.
Survivors include his children, Dana Jett, Christy Gros, and Matthew Gros and wife Pamela; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, George LaBove.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elaine Gros; son, Whitney Michael Gros; mother, Pearline Wilford LaBove, step-father, Adam LaBove (Doray); father, Wilfred Gros (Fred); and step-mother, Marji Gros; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 5, in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, with Deacon Harold Nixon presiding. Burial followed in Westlake Memorial Cemetery, with United States Navy honors, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
