The family encourages you to find a church home. Don’t struggle, just keep looking. Find somewhere to be comfortable wearing what you are comfortable wearing. There will always be an open seat for you. Find a church that actually opens the Bible and reads and teaches from it. Find a Pastor, not a preacher. Don’t be too proud to ask for help thinking that asking makes you seem weak. It actually makes you feel strong. Hold on to your family and tell them you love them. Just reach out and reach up. There is always someone there for you. An always remember, what would life be like without good memories.

Those left to cherish Travis’ memories are his wife, Billie Jean Johnson; sons, Dustin Johnson (Lindsey) and Dillon Johnson, all of Lake Charles; his mother, Carolyn Miller of Grand Chenier; paternal grandmother, Lorraine Johnson of Grand Lake; and grandchildren, Addison and Gunnar Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Johnson; paternal grandfather, Starks Johnson; and maternal grandparents, Sevan and Lida Miller.

A memorial service was held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Brian Fitkin officiated. A gathering of family and friends began at 4 p.m. and continued until 8 p.m.

In memory of Travis, the family asks that you make donations to a facility of your choice regarding mental health or alcoholism.
