Tony Duhon

A Mass of Christian Burial for Tony T. Duhon, 66, of Little Chenier, was held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, at 1. p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of the Marsh Cemetery in Creole. Rev. Jerrish George officiated under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Duhon began on Monday, Jan. 15, at 4 p.m. and concludeD at 8 p.m A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Visitation resumed Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. and concluded at 12:30 p.m. to leave for church.

Mr. Duhon was born on Dec. 25, 1957, to Thomas Toussian Duhon and Bertha Mae Boudoin Duhon. He graduated from South Cameron High School in Creole in 1976. He continued his education at Sowela Tech where he earned a degree in welding under his mentor, Layton Miller. Tony was a welder for many years. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family, as well as a loving husband and doting grandfather. Tony enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and proudly guided for Oak Grove Hunting Club. He was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Creole, where he sang in the choir accompanied by his wife, Rhonda. Tony also enjoyed caring for his many animals. Tony was humble, faithful, a good friend to many and will be missed terribly by all who knew him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 46 years, Rhonda D. Duhon; two daughters, Annette and Alice Mae; two sons, Adam and Arlis; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and Fiona, his beloved black lab and hunting companion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Glenn, and Rickey Duhon; and three grandchildren.
