South Cameron Fire Dept. has achieved a classification of 5

The South Cameron Fire Department (SCFD) Administration and Board Members are thrilled to share an important update that will benefit our entire community. Following the recent 2024 Public Protection Classification (PPC) evaluation conducted by the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL), SCFD has made significant progress in our fire rating classification. Previously rated as a 10, we are proud to announce that we have achieved a new classification of 5.

This revised classification is more than just a number; it has the potential to lead to reduced fire insurance rates for our community members, helping to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by residents and businesses alike. We believe that this accomplishment will not only enhance the safety of our community but also foster a greater sense of security for everyone.

This achievement is a direct result of the relentless dedication and hard work of our outstanding firefighters, along with the invaluable support of District 5 Juror Mark Daigle, the SCFD Board, and the Fire Department Administration staff. Together, we have worked collaboratively towards this goal, and we are proud of what we have accomplished.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to serving the citizens of our community with excellence. We take great pride in our ability to provide top-notch fire protection and emergency services, ensuring the safety and well-being of all. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to make our community a safer place for everyone.

We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!
