Sheriff’s Department reports on two incidents

The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office gave the following reports:

Incident at Hackberry High

The initial investigation revealed multiple students’ names written in the notebook, according to Cameron Sheriff Ron Johnson. Upon further investigation, authorities determined the juvenile who owned the notebook did not threaten to harm any student. The investigation also revealed at least one student wrote their own name in the notebook. The case has been forwarded to the Cameron District Attorney’s Office for review, Johnson said.

Pedestrian run over in Cameron

On Thursday, Mar. 28, at approximately 7:43 a.m. the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle in the town of Cameron. Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was traveling on LA 27 near Ann St. in Cameron when for an unknown reason the pedestrian Nadji Allan, 34, of Cameron suddenly moved into oncoming traffic.

He was then struck by a vehicle traveling west on LA 27 near Ann St. Allan was airlifted to a hospital out of town, where he is listed in critical condition.

In accordance with Louisiana state law standard toxicology testing will be performed; however, impairment is not suspected at this time.
