The Gulf Coast Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting the 17th Annual Tree Seedling Sale on Jan. 23-27 at the Lake Charles USDA Center, located at 5417 Gerstner Memorial Dr. from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The District, in association with NRCS and the Grand Lake FFA Chapter, announced that this year they have 4,000 seedlings of 12 different species. Hardwood and fruit seedlings are $2.

The following varieties are expected to be available; however, quantities are limited and no species is guaranteed to last (first come first serve):

Bald Cypress, Green Ash, Live Oak, Nuttall Oak, Overcup Oak, Common Persimmon, Red Maple, Red Mulberry, Sawtooth Oak, Shumard Oak, Native Sweet Pecan, and White Oak.

Go early for the best selection. Only cash or check payments accepted.
