July 26, 2022
The Cameron Parish Port Harbor & Terminal District met in regular session on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Port Board Building, Cameron, Louisiana at 5:00 o’clock p.m.
Present: Thomas Cox, Howard Romero, James Brown, Nina Jones, Tremayne Picou, Nat Griffith, Alfred Devall, Dwight Savoie, Jennifer Picou, Sheila Miller
Absent: Tim Dupont
Guests: Gus Fontenot – SWLA Economic Development Alliance, Rene Escurieux – Fenstermaker
Parish Agencies: Tunie Dunaway, Interim Port Director; Tianna Dunaway, Asst. Port Director; Kimberly Montie, Port Director; Chelsea Champagne, Assistant District Attorney.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman James Brown.
Alfred Devall led the Pledge of Allegiance and James Brown gave the invocation.
There was no public comment.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Picou and carried the board approved the June 28, 2022 regular meeting minutes.
On the motion of Mr. Romero seconded by Mrs. Miller and carried the board approved the treasurer’s report.
On the motion of Mr. Savoie, seconded by Mr. Romero and carried the board approved payment of the July 2022 bills.
The Board reviewed the actuals and the budget.
There was no correspondence.
Mrs. Kimberly Montie gave a staff report. She gave an update on the AOC park and stated that discussion is on going regarding insurance. She also gave an update on Tommy’s Seafood regarding the equipment that is still in discussion for selling or leasing. She spoke about different tours that she has coming up at Cheniere and Cameron LNG in mid-August. Lastly, she spoke about the meetings she has attended included the PAL meeting in Baton Rouge.
Regarding reports from commissioners, Mrs. Sheila Miller spoke about thoroughly reviewing insurance policy for AOC park before board agrees because of stipulations that are normally included.
The board discussed requested for the port director to research other banking opportunities.
There was no old business to discuss.
There was no new business to discuss.
The board discussed LNG facilities and some environmentalist that have issues with the facilities.
The next regular meeting will be scheduled for August 23, 2022, at 5 PM at the Cameron Parish Port Building.
There being no further business and upon motion of Mr. Romero seconded by Mrs. Miller and carried, the meeting was declared adjourned.
