Rockin’ Rutherford Group, Inc. (RRGI) is a Creole based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to improve Rutherford Beach and sponsor community events on the beach.

From a very humble beginning in 2015, when a group of beach neighbors and friends pooled their money to buy all the fireworks they could, the community events have gotten bigger and better each year. RRGI formally incorporated in 2019 and added more events. They now sponsor fishing tournaments, Memorial Weekend Celebrations, July 4th Celebrations, and Labor Day Weekend Celebrations. They brought Mardi Gras back to the beach after a 50-year absence. They brought a live band to the beach for the first time in 22 years. They partnered with food and snocone trucks, and hot food and cold refreshments are now available on the beach during season.

RRGI recently elected new board members. Outgoing President Bobby Miller said “I have known these folks for many years. They all love Rutherford Beach. Many of them grew up with the beach practically in their back yard. I have absolutely no doubt they will keep Rockin’ Rutherford for many years to come.”
