Rosie Vincent

Rosie Mildred Berry Vincent, 88, of Cameron, passed from this life on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020.

Mildred moved from Pinola, Miss. to Cameron and went to work at Ms. Annie’s Café where she met Durphy Vincent and they wed. Later, she went on to work at Cameron Food Mart as a grocery store clerk and then Sears for more than twenty years also as a clerk. She was a member of First Baptist Church Cameron. Mildred loved to cook but baking was her specialty; she was well known for her cakes and cookies. She never met a stranger; she was incredibly friendly and outgoing. Many friends will tell you that she was just as good at taking a joke as she was at giving one. She had a very kind spirit and could make even the gloomiest day brighter. She was an extraordinary mother and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Stephen Vincent of Cameron; son by marriage, Ernest Vincent and family of Big Lake; daughter-in-law by marriage, Pat Vincent and family of Big Lake; grandchildren, David and Lisa Jo; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Durphy Vincent; son, Tommy Jordan; son by marriage, Weldon Vincent; parents, Bennie and Estelle Berry; brother, Bennie D. Berry, Jr.; and sister, Maxie L. Furby.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
