Ira K. “Buddy” Ellender, 82 died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2020 at a local hospital.

He was born in Hackberry. He attended and graduated from Hackberry High School. He was a member of the Boys Scouts of America, Hackberry Lions Club and St Peters Catholic Church. He owned the Triple S Little Britches Rodeo Arena. He worked for Texaco Oil Company in Hackberry.

He is survived by his children, Shyla Coyne and husband Bill, Suzanne Cormier and husband Mike, Stephanie Cheaney and husband Randy, Brad Ellender, Danna Benoit and Amy Berwick and husband Jace; wife, Marsha Savoy Ellender; and sisters, Ruby Lee Gauley and Delores McQueen; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Adna Ellender; mother, Edith Little Ellender; one sister; and two brothers.
