Here is the agenda for the special meeting called for Wednesday, June 11, to address calling a special election for Police Juror District 4. While the Pilot attended the meeting at press time, we will not be able to report on the disposition on all the items which will be reported next week. We can share that our reporter was able to send in time for deadline, that former Cameron Parish Sheriff Ron Johnson was appointed to serve the vacated seat created by Danny Myers’ recent resignation until a newly elected juror can be sworn in. There were some time constraints with calling this special meeting before June 30th which led to the timing of the meeting. If not addressed and appointed by the jurors, Governor Landry would make an appointment. There were some Pilot posted this agenda on their social media and CPPJ posted on their door as required by law as well as posted on their website. This meeting was not Facebook lived due to it being a special called meeting.
