Richard Michael Savoie, 75, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2021.

Mike coached football at South Cameron Elementary. He was President of the South Cameron High School Athletic Association. Mike was an avid sportsman. He worked at Mobil Oil in Cameron, LA as an electrical supervisor. He later moved to electrical design at Conoco in Westlake then at Polaris Engineering in St Croix in the US Virgin Islands.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia Trahan-Savoie; his son Kevin and Jennifer Savoie; his daughter Mika Savoie; his step son Shaun and Meagan Trahan; his step daughters Charmaine Trahan and Roxanne and Ben Walton; his sister Anne and Robin Roberts; his brother Bob and Sue Savoie; 2 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents James R. “Sono” and Hazel Savoie, sister Phyllis Pinch, and his grandson John Thomas Savoie.

His funeral services was held at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Father Rojo Koonathon and Father Wayne Lebleu officiated. Burial was at Consolata Cemetery following the service under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
