South Cameron High School Campus Report was prepared for the Cameron Parish School Board and was presented by James Hoffpauir, Project Management on Monday, Nov. 11:

Work to the main SCHS building is complete with a cost of $4,879,326.28. South Cameron High School Gymnasium was obligated on Dec. 21, 2023, for $12,825,812.80, which is 90% of the eligible obligated amount after insurance reduction. At this time FEMA has given an estimated completion date for the Gymnasium as Feb. 28, 2026. FEMA accepted the response to the questions regarding the South Cameron High School Gymnasium for Codes and Standards in the Schematic Design, however, the elevator was not accepted as part of the project, but can be bid with the base bid as an additive alternate. The gymnasium is currently accepted as an At Cost project with a response from FEMA to proceed.

Track and Field Repair project, with a cost of $463,271.29 consisted of repair to track surface and repair to track events, long jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, etc. Permanent fence has been installed on the East and West property lines along around the sewer treatment plant. The North property line as a temporary fence currently installed. The Stadium Lighting project is being reviewed by FEMA Management. Additional information may be required. The Bleachers are in FEMA’s review also. The restrooms and concession projects are being reviewed by FEMA for additional updated cost.
