Cameron Parish Recreation District 5 held its regularly scheduled meeting on September 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
Board President Tremayne Picou called the meeting to order and on roll call the following members were present: Thomas Cox, Jacob Babcock, Kayla Conner and Brett Bellard
Absent: none
Employees in attendance were Lisa Ledano.
Guests present: Joe Dupont, Wendy Harrington, Butch Guidry, Michelle Bellard, Casey Bridges, Helena Bridges, Brandan Thomas, Scott Lavergne, Dolores Young, Helene Massey and Angelia Conner.
Minutes of the previous meeting, August 18, 2022, were distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting.

New Business:
•Public Comment – time was allowed for public comment prior to voting on all agenda items.
•Joe Dupont informed all in attendance that the application is with FEMA and that we are waiting on the dollar amount. He stated that everything sounds good at this time and that it is a waiting game right now.
•Manager for the center – after discussion the board decided to wait until a decision is received from FEMA before hiring a manager.
•Temporary weight facility – Tremayne Picou provided a cost update to acquire a temporary facility to all in attendance.
Parish Tax Assessor Scott Lavergne provided information on different scenarios of adjusting tax millages if the board decided to move in that direction.
The board members present reviewed the invoices for the month of August 2022. Thomas Cox made a motion to approve the bills. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
The treasurer’s report for the month of August 2022 was distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Kayla Conner made a motion to accept the treasurer’s reports as presented. Brett Bellard seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
With no further business to discuss, Kayla Conner made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jacob Babcock seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
