The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date at 5:00 pm and meeting was called to order, members in attendance were: Telesha Bertrand, Vickie Kiffe, Sheila Miller, Christi Labove, Randall Faulk and Sharon Picou
Absent: Marsha Trahan, Joseph Delcambre
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mr. Faulk and Mrs. Miller.
Clerk of Court Susan Racca swore in the newly appointed Board Member Vickie Kiffe, along with reappointment of Telesha Bertrand, Sheila Miller, Christi Labove, Sharon Picou and Randall Faulk for the new 4-year term.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Faulk, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved to nominate Mrs. Picou as Board President for the 2023 year.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Faulk, the Board approved to nominate Mrs., Bertrand as Vice President for the 2023 year.
On the motion of Mrs. Labove seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved the board minutes of the December 12, 2022 regular meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by the Superintendent.
No action was taken on school board review and taking necessary action on decision of the superintendent or his designee for expulsion of student, there was no one present on behalf of student, agenda item dismissed, as per Superintendent and District Attorney Office.
The Board received presentation of $25,000 to Cameron Parish School Board to be distributed in increments of $5,000 to each school from Cameron Lions Club, as presented by Lions Club Representatives.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income, as prepared by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
The Board received information on District Attorney’s office reviewing and making necessary changes to current Superintendent Evaluation Form.
The Board received information regarding negotiations of contract provisions for sale of Cameron Parish School Board building located at 510 Marshall St. Cameron, LA, as presented by Assistant District Attorney Michael Cassidy.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Cameron Parish District Attorney Office, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board received information and approved joining the National Vaping Litigation with Frantz Law Firm, as presented by the District Attorney’s Office.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid/quotes James Hoffpauir, Project Management Pending Insurance and FEMA Review
South Cameron High School – Various Final Restoration Repairs – Miscellaneous Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (Stadium Light Poles and Bleachers)- in FEMA review
South Cameron High School – Men’s Restroom, Women’s Restroom and Concession Stand- in FEMA review
South Cameron High School New Gym Complex –in FEMA review
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management ? None at this time
C. Approval of bid and quote awards- Superintendent ? None at this time
On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved to go out for bid on the Hackberry High School Rodeo Arena, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mr. Faulk, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites’ projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board’s Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board received for review 2022-2023 Pupil Progression Plan Addendum /update to Bulletin 1566 as adopted by BESE at the October 2022 meeting, as presented by the Superintendent.

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
Human Resource Management
Visited each school at least once a week to meet with administration regarding any issues and also to visit various classrooms and teachers
Participated in C&I book study with Dr. Freeman and supervisors on 12/8
District Operations and Financial Management
Met with Mr. Hoffpauir on 12/8 and participated in Zoom call with FEMA questions and concerns
Met with Mr. Brossett and Mrs. Labove to discuss final plans of HHS Rodeo and miscellaneous items
Met with staff from Deep South Productions to discuss sound issue @ HHS gym inside the new school
Student Growth and Achievement
Conducted fall site visit @ SCHS on 12/6
Conducted fall site visit @ GLHS on 12/6
Conducted fall site visit @ HHS on 12/7
Conducted fall site visit @ JBHS on 12/7
Conducted fall site visit @ GLES on 12/7
Communication and Community Relations
Met with a parent on 12/13 regarding an issue at an event

Attended and participated in Christmas Festivities @ courthouse on 12/20
Organizational Leadership
Participated in a LDOE Superintendent’s call on 12/2
Attended fall LASS conference in Baton Rouge on 12/1
On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:30 pm.
