Board of Commissioners Meeting
November 24, 2020
Meeting called to order at 4:45 p.m. by Chairperson, Mary D. Booth.
Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer were led by Mrs. Booth.
Board Roll call: Present – Mary Booth, Christine Mooney, Melissa Kiffe, Patricia Primeaux.
Mrs. Booth read the agenda aloud.
No amendments to the agenda were proposed.
Ms. Mooney motioned to approve the minutes from the last meeting, August 5, 2020. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None opposed. Motion carried.
Director, Byron Broussard presented the director’s report for August, September & October 2020 which included, call volume reports, payments received on accounts, expense reports, cash asset report, and tax revenues received. A balance sheet was presented and reviewed. Expense reports were reviewed and signed by each present member. An account adjustment report was presented and signed by the meeting chairperson.
Mrs. Booth asked about the Physician Medical Director position. Mr. Broussard explained the position has been filled. Dr. David Landry has signed a contract with the district and will be paid $500. per month to serve as the Physician Medical Director.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to approve and accept the director’s report. Second by Ms. Mooney. None Opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Broussard presented information regarding the damaged property and pictures of the damage caused by Hurricanes Laura and Delta. He submitted totals of insurance settlements received so far and detailed some of the work that will need to be done to bring the facilities to operational status and then to fully recovered status.
The board also discussed options for receiving proposals on repairs and for the demolition vs. partial demolition of the 129 Bonsall St. Cameron location. Also discussed were options to reestablish a station in Cameron. The board would like to determine if the elevation / foundation at the Bonsall street location should be salvaged or demolished with the upper structure. Mr. Broussard will seek information needed to determine this.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms.Mooney. None opposed. Meeting adjourned.
