PROCEEDINGS
April 12, 2023
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Mike Welch
Absent: Mr. Brad Hinton
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mr. Dalton Nunez, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mike Welch and carried unanimously, the minutes from the March 8, 2023 meeting were approved.
On motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Mike Welch, and each present Board Member voting YEA, the Board voted to adopt the 5.72 millage rate.
On motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, all three SOPs were reviewed and approved for adoption.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch and Dalton Nunez. Hawkins added anthracite to Wellsite #3 and a drive at the LNG pump station went out. Quotes will be gathered for a replacement. Two relief valves were purchased for when the water tower is out of commission while being cleaned out. Fire hydrant maintenance will start next week by HydroTec. The school ag shop tap is completed and the new Family Dollar Store tap is scheduled to be installed.
The monthly updates and Financial Reports including the Actual vs. Budget Report for the month ending March 31, 2023 were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the financial reports were accepted and all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
There being no further business, on motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
