GRAVITY DRAINAGE
DISTRICT NO 4
March 16, 2020
Gravity Drainage District No. 4 held a regular meeting at the Creole Fire Station in Creole, Louisiana at 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2020.
PRESENT: Leslie Griffith, Todd Morales, and Dan Nunez
ABSENT: Shane Broussard and Mike Semien
The meeting was called to order by Co-Chairman Dan Nunez.
Mr. Mitch Thomas with Lonnie Harper and Associates and landowner Mr. Walt Richard were present for the public comment period. The group discussed the upcoming projects and timelines. Mr. Walt Richard discussed his concern that the section of the Duke Lateral from behind the plant to the first levee to the East did not get cleaned and presented the Board with pictures showing the part of the lateral not cleaned versus the cleaned section.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board voted to submit a work order to have the Duke Lateral cleaned behind the plant to the first levee going East after Mr. Mitch Thomas checks the permit for the lateral to make sure how far it continues to the plant.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the minutes of the February 17, 2020 meeting were approved.
On motion of Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried, the Board sent in the following work request:
a. Allow the parish road superintendent to order 2 each, 24” x 30’ and 1 each, 30” x 30’ culverts to be installed in drainage lateral “D” which runs from Happy Ridge Road to the Creole Canal.
b. Allow the parish road superintendent to send road crew to check on a washout on Lateral “C” which runs behind Mr. James Nunez’s home on Trosclair Road.
c. Submit a continuous work order for the road crew to keep the access road to the Boyd Allen Structure on Oak Grove mowed and the sides sprayed.
On motion of Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried, the financial report was approved.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board voted to transfer $55,000.00 from the LAMP account to the checking account.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board agreed to request Mr. Coy Vincent with Gragson, Cassidy & Guillory, LLP to complete the 2019 Audit.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the following bills were approved for payment.
Jeff Davis Electric, $27.83
Marshland Equipment Rentals, $54,797.90
Cameron Pilot, $90.00
There being no further business, on motion of Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried, the meeting was declared adjourned.
