On Monday, Apr. 22, at approximately 0820 hours, Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from an employee of a local oilfield pipeline facility located in Johnson Bayou (west of Little Florida Beach) in reference to a suspicious vehicle (2013 white Jeep Texas license plate RZT4014) that looked to be abandoned on the property. The Jeep was bogged down and contained some of the owner’s personal belongings. Several personal effects that belonged to the subject were found within the area of the facility.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the area and was unable to locate the owner, identified as Franklin Matlock, 52. Matlock had been reported as missing out of Alvin, Texas. Deputies continued to search the area using ATVs and drone.
