Martin Gayle Theriot, Sr., 85, died on Wednesday, Mar. 23, 2022, at a local hospital surrounded by family.
Martin was born on March 20, 1937, in Creole, to parents Amy François and Lawrence Theriot. He graduated from Creole High School. Martin retired from Conoco where he was employed as an offshore operator.

Martin is survived by his children, Agnes Boudoin (Keith), Tomball, Texas, Tina Horn (Ernie), Creole, Karen Deshotel, Moss Bluff, Martin Theriot, Jr. (Anna), Arnaudville, and Michelle Guidry (Ricky), Bell City; stepchildren Christopher Manuel (Kim), and Charles Manuel (Cyndy); nine grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Adaway Manuel; the mother of his children, Katherine Johnson; stepchild, Christine Crochet; and step grandchild, Charles Manuel, Jr.; parents, Lawrence “Chen” and Amy Francois Theriot; and grandparents, Rodolph and Alix Savoie Theriot

A funeral was held Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2022 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Father Wayne LeBleu officiated. Interment was at Chenier Perdue Cemetery, Creole.
