Marshall Spicer

Marshall Francis Spicer, 82, of Carlyss, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022.

In his younger days, he was rated as a First Class Glazier. Upon moving from Mississippi to Hackberry, he became one of the first commercial fishermen to crab and shrimp the waters of Cameron Parish.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Spicer; children, Marshall E. Spicer (Becky), Patricia “Diana” Hebert (Michael), and David Spicer; siblings, Nell Roper, Chester Spicer, and Debra Kittner; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy DeGeer Hession; father, Wiley Spicer; step-mother, Alberta Spicer; son, Douglas Spicer; siblings, Frankie Spicer, Karen Fodrie Spicer.

Funeral service was held at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Wednesday, Aug. 17. Pastor Chris Guidroz officiated. Burial followed at Hackberry Community Cemetery.
