August 13, 2020
Board President Ernest Roberts called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. Board Members present were Ernest Roberts, Beth Ferguson, Peter Posada, and Kathleen Simon. Jaimie Boudreaux was absent. Thomas led the pledge of allegiance and Beth led the prayer. No public comment.
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Thomas, and carried, the Library Board voted to accept the minutes.
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Kathleen, and carried, the Library Board voted to accept the financial report.
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Peter, and carried, the Library Board voted to keep the library open until called with COVID in staff.
On the motion by Kathleen and seconded by Thomas, and carried, the Library Board voted to close all libraries temporary on Saturdays due to low patron counts and COVID concerns.
On the motion by Kathleen and seconded by Thomas, and carried, the Library Board voted to change the radiator on Cameron Main generator.
On the motion by Thomas and seconded by Beth, and carried, the Library Board voted to change out the compressor on Cameron dressing room air conditioner.
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Thomas, and carried, the Library Board voted to keep the present circulation desk
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Thomas, and carried, the Library Board voted to hire Vincent Shows Architect to design Hackberry new building and give library board president authority to sign the revised contract.
On the motion by Kathleen and seconded by Thomas, and carried, the Library Board voted to hire Anna Lester full time at $9.68 an hour for Johnson Bayou.
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Kathleen, and carried, the Library Board voted to hire part time workers Arnold Jones and Debra Fornet.
There being no further business and upon the motion of Peter seconded by Thomas, and carried, the board voted unanimously to adjourn at 6:27 p.m.
