PROCEEDINGS
February 8, 2023
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Brad Hinton, Mr. Mike Welch
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mr. Dalton Nunez, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the minutes from the January 18, 2023 meeting were approved.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford, and opposed by Mike Welch, the motion carried to hire Sharon Sanner for part-time office help.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the Board elected to pay $20.00 per hour for part-time office personnel.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously with Mike Welch abstaining from voting, the Board elected to accept the quote from Crane Brothers to paint all fire hydrants.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch and Dalton Nunez. The ground storage tank has been repaired, cleaned out, and inspected by Maguire Iron. Generators have had annual service from Devall Diesel to prepare for hurricane season.
The monthly updates and Financial Reports including the Actual vs Budget Report for the month ending January 31, 2023 were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the financial reports were accepted and all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
There being no further business, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford, and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
