Lillian C. LaBove Barnhill, 91, of Lake Charles died Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.

She was born in Creole where she lived until moving to Hackberry at the age of 16. Upon graduating from Hackberry High School, she moved to Lake Charles where she resided the duration of her life. In these earlier years, she worked for a bank and at Kress’ Department Store. She later did volunteer work at Crossroads Catholic Books and Gifts for numerous years. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Theresa “Terrie” Almeida of Lake Charles, Kevin Barnhill (Debbie) of Alexandria, and Darlene Boos (Kevin) of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Barnhill; and three siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, at Lake City Baptist Church. Father Brian King will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin in the church on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
