Laura Faulk Demary Trahan died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 at her home at the age of 94.

She and her twin brother, Lawrence, were born in Big Lake the last of nine children born to Semar and Frances Hebert Faulk.

She married Elza Gilbert Demary, also of Big Lake, on Jan. 7, 1942 during WWII.

She had a licensed daycare center in her home in the late 1960s called Babyland Nursery. She later married B. W. Jardell. After his passing, she married Richard Trahan.

She was an active member of VFW Post 2130 Auxiliary for many years. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of OLQH Catholic Church.

She is survived by her “brother” Raleigh Newman; four children, Janice (Robert) Crador, Elza Gilbert Demary, Jr (Jackie Bullock), Gary D. Demary and Reginald D. Demary (Linda Morris); 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. Burial followed at Big Lake Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
