PROCEEDINGS

There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 08, 2022, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Mike Welch, Mr. Brad Hinton
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mr. Dalton Nunez, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mike Welch and carried unanimously, the minutes from the May 11th, 2022 meeting were approved.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch and Dalton Nunez. Dalton passed his level 2 certifications and will be taking his last test in July. The chlorine buster pump was replaced at wellsite #3 and all generators were serviced by Devall Diesel for their annual inspection before hurricane season. Several leaks were located and repaired in the past month including the 12” main line on Hwy. 27 and a fire hydrant replaced on Benjamin Ln. Dalton presented the Board with a quote for valve markers and posts. The Board agreed to proceed with installing 6’posts to mark all main line valves.
The Financial Report for the month ending May 31, 2022 and updates were presented by Shaun Kyle. The Board would like current interest rates to be gathered before the next meeting to decide the renewal term for the CDs maturing in July. The Board asked that well production amounts be added to the monthly usage report for metered accounts. The Board was informed on proceedings of the OEP hurricane preparedness meeting held on June 7th.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
There being no further business, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mark Trahan, and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
